To anyone whom it may concern,

Today, everyone at work was disappointed in a guest. I work as a housekeeper at a high end hotel and see day to day different types of guest. But these types were not anywhere near my favourite. I had learned at the start of my shift that a dog was left in their expensive vehicle in the underground park aide. And yes, I know what you are all thinking, oh it's nice and cool in there, the dog is fine. NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! The windows were only cracked a inch and there wasn't even water provided for the animal because the owners were afraid of the dog peeing in their expensive car. WHO GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR DAMN CAR!? We even asked if they would like a pet room since we provide them but they even said NO! Good lord people! Even in the park aide it can reach up to 28 C, and because we are in the middle of a heat wave where we are getting highs of 41 C it isn't good. At the end the guest were asked by the manager to bring their dog inside and they were moved to the pet rooms.

Over the last few months I had heard of over a dozen accounts where the RCMP and SPCA had to come and break a window because a dog was left inside. How horrible can you be to leave your animal  inside your car? Have you no humanity? I don't care if you'll only be fifteen minutes because every second you are gone it's getting a degree higher in your car. It is a sauna inside. As a large lover of dogs I feel saddened that people can't take better care of their dogs and think about their safety before leaving in a hot car. I get how you can't leave him at home but should you really be bringing them with you when it's 35+ outside? I don't think so.

So please think about your dogs. They are living, breathing creatures and deserves as much as we do when it comes to care. And the next time you think about leaving your dog inside your car, imagine how you would feel inside with no air and the temperature slowly rising. Not very comfortable is it.

Saddened and pissed off dog owner
